Journey to Houston

In order to get my visa to stay in France for more than 3 months, I had to go to Houston to apply for it. I had to go in person. My mom wanted to go with me so we left thursday night, stayed at a hotel about half way there, and then drove the rest of the way Friday morning. We left the hotel about 1.5 hours early in order to make sure we would get there in time for my appointment at 11am. We sat in traffic for about 1.5 hours. I ended up being 15 mins late to my appointment, but they still took me in. I sat in the waiting room for 20 minutes, did the interview process for 10 minutes, and then we left. It was that easy. Almost not worth the drive since I was only in the French Consulate for 30 minutes.
We found a small french cafe across the street from the consulate for lunch. It was adorable! Spinach Quiche and Tomato Basil soup for the both of us!

Weirdest feeling in the world

So I was nervous, excited, and scared all at the same time. The scariest part what simply clicking on the Submit Order button. I kept telling myself that if I want to change the flight at any time, I can because I bought insurance. Totally worth the $35 to be covered if anything happens.

But I officially bought my ticket. WINDOW SEAT! Direct Flight! Super cheap because I always look for deals! I leave Aug 27th in the evening and arrive in Paris in the morning. So luckily the 8 hour difference wont bother me too much if I just sleep the whole 9 hours.

But yeah right...I'll be awake the whole time probably. I'll want to watch America go bye bye and see the coast. That would be awesome.

Work will pay off...right?

So I asked God for opportunities to make extra money this summer, and He gave them to me. I have my full time nanny job, but I met a family with a 4-year-old boy that needs babysitting occasionally during the week and on weekends. It works perfectly with my nanny schedule. I have been working a lot lately. Sometimes I think I am working too much, but I seem to be handling it fine. Last week, I worked a total of 61 hours. This week, I will work 51 hours. Next week should not be this busy since my birthday is next thursday! I will be getting time off, but in no way am I regretting, tired, or worn out from working. I asked for this, and I want to show everyone that If you ask for something, God provides it. I am thankful.

Good Progress

Financially, I am fine. I calculated how much I will make this summer and then calculated how much I need to make this summer. Just a small difference, but I am making up the difference by babysitting extra. God is providing for sure. I worked 12 hours today! I am tired, but it's all going to be worth it! I'd say I am more than motivated to earn as much money as I can this summer. Only 2ish more months till I go to France.

I got an email from the family in France today saying they received my paperwork in the mail! Hopefully they will send more paperwork back to me as soon as possible. The next task to get done is getting my visa. Have to drive down to Houston for that.

But here are some motivational quotes that encouraged me throughout this process.
